Fun with a walking toy

Two weekends ago Emmery and I went with Janelle and Evan to Emmery's school to celebrate the Goddard school's 25th anniversary.  They had a pony outside and then each classroom inside had a different fun thing to do like play musical squares to win stickers, sing and dance with the music teacher, or eat cake.  Emmery wore her Keds (a hand-me down from Kellie) and had a great time walking around everywhere using my fingers or her teachers'.

Here is Emmery with Janelle.  She is watching Evan ride the pony, and I think she's a bit sad that she doesn't get to ride the pony too.

It ended up snowing the next day and Emmery enjoyed looking outside while reading (and chewing on) some of her books about snow.

She loves looking out the front door and watching everyone go by. And I love her scrawny legs :)

Emmery and I had President's day off, so we did one of our most favorite things- spent the morning going on a long walk with Denise and then out for coffee downtown.

Denise can always make Emmery smile!

Emmery has made huge strides (pun intended) towards walking the past 3 nights...

She got a walking toy for Christmas, and while she has enjoyed playing with it, she has refused to try and walk while holding onto it.

But on Tuesday night she actually started pushing her walking toy with one hand while holding onto Jamison's finger with her other hand. And then started pushing it by herself (with some help).

This video shows a little bit of her dance moves (she shakes her head back and forth) and her stubbornness (at the end she was done and refused to use her walking toy anymore that night).

On Wednesday she started pulling herself up and pushing her walking toy with both hands all by herself (with a little bit of crashing).

And tonight (Thursday night) she started walking with one hand on her walking toy and the other one free!
