Jean and Tom came up last Saturday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon. While Jamison and I went out to a movie, Emmery had fun spending time with her Grandma and Grandpa.
She is loving walking around with fingers. Here she is with Grandpa Tom!
And pulling herself up and crawling on things.
She is a cuddle bug and snuggles anything soft. Here she is with Grandma Jean and her new lil peanut.
Our sweet pea at 43 weeks in her light pink sweater outfit from Grandpa and Grandma Martin.
Hugging her lil peanut.
This week she started waving. At daycare they said she waved 'hi' and 'bye' to everyone that entered and left the room :)
Looking out the front door. Doesn't she look so grown up in this picture? She is actually looking at our neighbor Doug who is sitting next to her :)
Unfortunately on Thursday Emmery got sick. Again. She was sent home from school with a high fever. I decided last minute Thursday evening to take her to the doctor, and I'm glad I did because she has another ear infection :(
My mom was planning on coming up Fri afternoon, so she came up early on Thursday night to stay home with Emmery on Friday. Instead of a fun day of going on walks and playing, my mom cuddled and soothed a fussy, sick baby. She has been sick a lot over the last few months, but I think this may have been the fussiest and exhausted she has ever been.
On Friday night Emmery's temperature spiked to ~104.5! We called the doctor (for probably the 5th time this month- are we new parents or what?) and tried to give her liquids (which she wouldn't take), a warm bath, advil, tylenol, and lots of cuddling. By 3am her temperature was finally back down.
And of course Grammy was even able to get some giggles out of her.
She also got some Valentine's Day gifts from Grandpa and Grammy Brewer, including a photo album full of pictures with Kellie's kids.
And for our big news- we met with our realtor this week and are getting ready to sell our house (sigh). As much as it pains me to leave this house, our neighbors, and our neighborhood, we both realize that we need more space. On the wish list- an extra bedroom for guests, more space for toys, and a place to put my craft stuff that is not the top shelf of my closet. So over the next few weeks we are going to try and get the house ready and figure out where we want to move to.
Here is Jamison sanding and painting our back door. Such a stud!
Even though I am not a big football fan (although I think I could get into it since it seems like sort of a soap opera), as an avid snacker I thoroughly enjoy all of the food that goes along with the super bowl holiday. Unfortunately with Emmery being so sick, she and I stayed home instead of going to Andy's (a guy that Jamison works with) super-bowl party. The theme was Latin/Mexican, and so I made some of my favorite foods from when I was in Argentina- bite-size alfajores and small empanadas (which Jamison helped with). Can you tell I was stuck in the house all weekend with a sick baby :)
Alfajores are cookies with dulce de leche in the middle.
Empanadas can be baked or fried. I prefer the baked, but for the superbowl we used up the fried package of Saltena pastries we had. We filled them with ham,
Gruyere cheese, and basil- yum!
44 weeks in her new (gently used) outfit from Grandpa and Grammy Brewer.
I did not stage her hands crossed like that :)
Showing off. Can you see her pearly whites (and rather large gap)?
