A bit of a random post.
We have officially started to finish the basement, and Jamison is determined to get it done before the baby arrives (due May 16). That means he has been working on the basement during weekends and even nights after dinner. He has a work ethic like no other!
Luckily for me we have had grandparents come up quite a bit over the past few weeks.
My dad has helped Jamison out a few weekends with painting and framing the basement.
Em eating lunch with Grandpa.
And reading with Grandpa.
The basement is coming along with all of Jamison's hard work. Last weekend Jamison and two of his electrician friends did the wiring. He's hoping to get the plumbing done over this weekend.
Emmery loves to go down there and walk around :)
Em got a surprise package from Aunt Kellie with 2 towels and Holland's old gymnastics outfit. She loved the towels and wore them around for a whole day.
Here is a new app (Waterlogue) I got which turns photos into watercolors- so cool!
I am continuing to get bigger- here is my belly at 25 weeks. (taken at a good angle- I think I look bigger in person)
For the super bowl we went over to a friend's house that had cupcakes. Here Emmery has already eaten two cupcakes (or at least the blue frosting) and is asking for another.
While working in the basement one evening, Jamison saw some water leaking from a kitchen sink pipe while I was washing dishes. Turns out our kitchen sink sprayer also decided to start leaking. Thank goodness it happened before the drywall went up! So now we have a basement remodel going on, a master bath that is still being renovated with a hole in our living room ceiling, and a kitchen sink without a sprayer… #looking forward to things getting more settled around here.
As you can tell from the photo above, Emmery is starting to be a big help around the house. Here she is helping shovel.
Even though it has been pretty cold around here, Emmery and I have been trying to keep busy.
We made a Valentine sun catcher one day. And here is Em in her Valentine's outfit :)

Her new favorite thing to do at the park is act like a monkey.
We met Kelly and family at the Denver Children's museum one day. It was a bit hectic for Em (and me), but she now has a better understanding of what a fire truck is. Kelly made the cute skirt for her.
We met Natalie and her girls at ChickFilA one day, and Emmery had her first fast food kids meal.
Of course she didn't eat any chicken- only the fruit and juice. Afterwards she had a sugar high and had fun running around the indoor play structure.
Emmery is becoming more and more independent. Yesterday we were going to the library for a music program. I asked her if she wanted to wear a white or pink bow. She of course picked the StPatrick's day headband, exclaimed "Cute!", and would only wear that. While driving to the library I was thinking to myself how she is going to be a challenge with her stubbornness. Then I looked in my rearview mirror at her and, looking in her mirror at me, she said "Cute, cute!"
And if you can't tell from the above pictures, she is now in to taking her pants off and putting on boots. These cowboy boots were actually Jamison's when he was little. This morning she took off both her pants and diaper and then peed on the carpet… I know all kids go through this phase, but I'm not sure I'm ready for it :)
