8th week

The highlights for the 8th week were that we celebrated mother's day and my mom came up.  Oh- and we got a housecleaning lady, Alma, that is going to start coming every other week- which is pretty much the best mother's day present ever!

Jamison got really sick the weekend of mother's day, so on Friday we walked downtown for sushi!  We were also going to go listen to some music in the square, but it got too windy and cold.

Some cute pictures from my iPhone where she looks like a big girl

My mom came up for a few days and we ran errands, went out to dinner, and met Denise for breakfast.
Here is Grammy Brewer holding Emmery in her favorite position.  Our little cuddler now usually prefers to be held out.  And she loves being naked!

All curled up.

She typically likes her tummy time.

And here she is with Grammy in her super cute new outfit.

Later that night she relaxed with Jamison.

Look at those toes!

My mom put Emmery in her carseat to walk down to Rainbow Cafe for breakfast, and she started smiling away- she likes walks :-)

At breakfast with Denise.

And here are her 8 week old pictures...

7 weeks old and fun with a lens

I love when pictures have a narrow depth of focus.  So for Emmery's 7 week old pictures our neighbor, Doug, let me borrow his 50mm lens, and I started practicing semi-manual camera settings.  It was fun to play with a lens that costs more than my camera!

Doug and Denise watched her for ~1 1/2 hours yesterday while I went to the gym (yay!) and she slept the whole time (yay again!).
Here she is sleeping at their house.  Learning how to use the lens...

7 weeks old and just shy of 9 pounds.  Our little girl is growing up.

Look at the smile! I'm a little off on where my focus should be, but her smile makes it a good picture.

Doug took this one with another lens.  I love to just stare at her little fingers and toes!

6 weeks old

Emmery is so cute when she gets done with her bath that I couldn't resist sitting her down on the chair for a few quick pictures.  Literally 4 quick snaps, and she sort-of smiled on the 3rd!
When I picked her up I realized why- she went "#1" (as my mom likes it to be said) on the chair.

Emmery's Baptism

Emmery was baptized on May 6, 2012 at my parents' church, Holy Apostles Catholic church, in Colorado Springs.  She looked like a little doll in her beautiful baptismal gown, which Kellie had gotten from Grandma Malloy for Hannah (pretty sure it had been part of Grandma's decorations).  Kellie and Eric are her Godparents and Deacon Bob administered the sacrament.  Emmery started to get a little fussy during the ceremony, but Kellie helped keep her relatively quiet by giving her a finger to suck on.  Afterwards we all went back to my parents' house for a celebration.  Here are some pictures from her special day.

The bonnet is made from a handkerchief that she can use on her wedding- a gift from her Grandpa and Grandma Martin.  She is also wearing a special little bracelet from her Grandpa and Grandma Brewer.

I just love Hannah in this one :)

A week with the Jensen's!

As I mentioned in the last post, Team Jensen came out to Colorado Springs for a week!  Emmery and I also stayed down at my parents house for the whole week, and Jamison, Scott, and Katie came down for a long weekend.  We had a great time together- I wish more than ever that they lived closer.
We spent a lot of time just hanging out, talking, and laughing, but made sure to do something fun everyday.  All the men helped my dad work on re-landscaping his yard.  We went on a mile hike at Garden of the Gods, went to parks, went for walks, made sugar cookies, played cards, played the piano (Kellie and I tried miserably to play a duet that we had mastered over 15 years ago), went out to dinner, and went bowling (well I didn't go since I was sick).  That's right- I got sick.  Sad because I was sick during their visit, but it was also kind of good since there were plenty of people to take care of Emmery.  I didn't hold her for a good 36 hours!  Between Kellie (who got up with her at night), my Mom, my Dad, Holland , and Eric, Emmery had plenty of love.  Here are some pictures from the weekend.  Well more like a lot of pictures- Kellie's kids are just so cute!

Holland walking around with Emmery.  She was amazing with her- I would seriously trust her to babysit!

The boys with Emmery.  Every time Torrington sees the camera, he looks right at it :-)

Sweet little Kavanaugh blowing bubbles.  He is such a thoughtful boy, and I love the fact that he loves to sit by me :-)

The boys being boys.  I love this picture because it shows a bit of their personalities.

Miss Hannah, who is 7 going on 16 :-)  Between her bubbly and dramatic personality, this girl is one character!

Hannah (and Torrington) playing the piano.

All the Jensen kids on a buffalo at Garden of the Gods.

The girls.  Notice Hannah's lack of teeth!

Holland has the cutest little giggle.

Emmery going on her first hike (she slept through most of it)

Such a mini-mom!

The best way to describe Torrington is that he is all boy!

Kellie giving Emmery a bath.

My mom painting Holland's nails for her pictures.

Emmery on Scott's shoulder.

I love this picture of Hannah drawing with sidewalk chalk.

My mom feeding Emmery in her new cute orange jumper.

Katie holding Emmery.  Look at how cute Emmery is!  And silly Hannah in the background :)

Scott changing a poopy diaper!

Emmery loves her Grandpa!  He can always calm her down.

Kellie and her kids bowling.

Me nursing in public for the first time- worth a picture :)
