Week 4

We had a great week 4 with Emmery.

Last Saturday Emmery and I went to Tracey's house and met up with Kelly, Carter, and Landon.  They surprised me with birthday cupcakes and Jimmy Johns!

Little Landon dressed up for the occasion!

Emmery and Carter hanging out at the lake.  We covered them up and they both took a nice nap!

Sunday night Cy stopped by to meet little Em.  She was snoring so loud while he was holding her- I couldn't believe it!

It got a lot hotter this week, so one day Emmery just wore a onesie.  She looked so cute- I tried to take her picture, but she was not happy about it.  And I tried to do some of the "tricks" I learned at my camera class that Kelly and I took last Friday, but unfortunately I need more than one class of help because my attempt at natural lighting and capturing a good moment did not work out!

Jean and Tom came up Wed night- Sat morning.
Tom mowed our yard, picked dandelions, and sanded windows for us- greatly improving the look of the front of our house.  Most of our new storm/screen windows are now up, so we can open the windows and get fresh air!
Jean held and cuddled with Emmery a lot and helped out with cleaning, cooking, and laundry!  And I went and worked out for the first time- and am feeling very sore now.  They also watched Em Friday night while Jamison and I went out to dinner and bowling.

I really like this picture.  And it was taken using the iPhone- I am amazed at how nice of pictures it takes!

And here are her 4 week old pictures.  Her newborn clothes are starting to get too short, so today I put her in her first 0-3 month old outfit.  And she started getting acne- little girl is growing up!

Look at that smile! :-)

3 weeks old!

Emmery has gotten fussier these past few weeks- making taking her 3-week old pictures a bit of a challenge!  But they capture some of her facial expressions...

Take 1- She was not happy about me trying to take her picture.

Take 2- After feeding her and letting her sleep, I tried to take her picture again.  She started stretching and then fussing again.

Take 3- I touched up the chalkboard picture and tried one last time later in the day.  This is the face she gave me- guess she was over taking her 3 week old pictures!

However, she was an angel that morning and slept through a long walk with Denise and Moose!

Earlier in the week Janelle and Evan came and visited us with bagels.  We then took a walk to City Park- Evan (almost 2) is so curious and loves looking at all of the flowers!

Easter and turning 2 weeks old

Emmery's second week was very busy! She had her first doctor's appointment and hit 7 lbs.
Here are some pictures from the week.

Me right before we left for the hospital...

And with Emmery. I always think she seems so small, until I think of her being in my tummy!

We went down to Colorado Springs for Easter- it was really nice to spend time with our families. Of course Emmery got held the whole weekend, so I spent this week trying to get her back to being able to sleep without being held :-)

Curled up and resting with Grandpa Brewer.

Jamison and my dad giving cheers to Emmery with the good stuff.

With her Aunt Amanda!

And her cousins

Jamison went back to work after having a week off :-( Emmery and I got him a digital picture frame for work so that he has plenty of pictures of her.

And with Jamison back at work, Jean came up to visit Emmery (and keep me company). We took Emmery for her first walk!

Jean treated us to Old Chicagos, and Em slept the whole time!

In her spring dress and in her cradle that was made by her Great-Grandpa Malloy and has been passed around the family. She sleeps in the cradle every night and for her naps right now (as long as I can get her to go down). I tried to setup a photoshoot, but she was not having it. Here she is wailing :-( Hopefully one of these days I will get some better pictures of the beautiful cradle.

Drinking her first bottle- which meant a glass of wine for me!

Trying on her new special shoes from her Aunt Kellie, Uncle Eric, and team Jensen cousins! The shoes have her name on the bottom of one and her birthdate on the bottom of the other. They also come with a beautiful little story- "May your little footsteps gently print the ground and preordain your destiny."

My mom came up and helped out for a few days. She has so much energy! I really appreciated all of her help- she cleaned, cooked, folded laundry, washed dishes, cut out and glued all of the envelope liners for Emmery's baby announcements, and of course cuddled with Em! She also went with me to look at different daycare possibilities.

And on her 2 week birthday her cord fell off, so she got her first real bath!

Farrah did a wonderful job- what a great gift from Emmery's Aunt Amanda, Uncle Johnny, and their family!

Update:  We got a cd of all of Emmery's pictures!  Below are some of my favorites.

She is so tiny in Jamison's hands!  I love her little foot kicking out :-)

Her mouth is too cute in this one.

I love baby wrinkles.
